Oh My.... Sunshine!

We love the sun! Our day started at 10am outside and we just came inside for a late nap at 2:00! It has been glorious to enjoy the sun and according to the weather there is a lot more where this is coming from. :) I have loved spring break... visiting great friends that I don't see nearly enough during the hustle of work... but I am loving spring break so much more to see the sunshine! Here are some pics of Ivy playing in the backyard this morning.

Setting up house.... chair, purse, babies.... that is all a girl needs!

Taking a picture of her babies on the swing... notice her short sleeves. She has asked me everyday since we tried on her summer clothes if she can wear short sleeves and she was pumped to pick out a new shirt out of the "summer drawer" to wear today :)

Pushing her babies- they even took turns with the blue swings. She is such a little mama!

Disney Magic

I can't wait for us to be able to take Ivy to Disney World... but for now Disney brought the magic to us through Disney On Ice. It was a special celebration of all the princesses, and our little Princess was amazed. She has been talking about it non-stop for a week and screamed every time the commercial came on, and finally we went last night. She can't wait to see them again when she is 3! I guess we better live up to that promise and take her back next year, because with a memory like Ivy's she is not going to forget. When the show was over we had a heartbroken 2 year old sobbing for Mickey and Minnie to bring Cinderella and Ariel back! We calmed her down by telling her that they would come back next year but for now they had to go on vacation :) So low and behold, for the next month we will probably be asked DAILY when we are going back to see the princesses!

Posing as Belle, after she finally chose which dress to wear.... 2 hours before the show!

Ivy and Mommy.... Ivy was amazed at ALL the little princesses walking around!

Ivy and Daddy enjoying cotton candy.... $10 cotton candy... better be good!
Ivy wanted to sit in our seats and we had to convince her we still had 25 minutes :) We maybe should have let her stay in the seats and we would've saved quite a bit of money!!

Intently watching the princesses.... she was so into it! We are going to try to sit down and watch our first movie... Snow White... tonight! I'll let you know how that goes- at this point her attention span for TV and movies is about 15 or 20 minutes! She wanted to watch The Little Mermaid and I had NO idea you couldn't just go buy any of the old Disney movies.... so Snow White is what Disney has out right now!

Easter Egg Hunt

Hunting for Easter eggs is one of our favorite past times this time of year!! Once Ivy saw them out in the stores she dug out her Easter bucket and we've been hiding them each day since. We hide them around the house or in the backyard, but none the less Ivy was more than ready for the Easter egg hunt at church this weekend. We ran into some friends that it was great to see and we're a lot happier to see the Easter bunny this year than last year! It was a great time and we hope to go to one more egg hunt next weekend. We couldn't have asked for better weather! Here are some pics from the Easter egg hunt! :)

Hunting eggs in the backyard!! (We LOVE this weather!)

Proud of all the eggs she found at the hunt....

Hugging the Easter bunny... he was quite surprised when just moments before she screamed at the sight!

Family Picture 2010... next year at the egg hunt we will be a family of 4! CRAZY :)

We've Missed Our Daddy

Oh, how we've missed our daddy this week! He has been working extra long hours every day after working all last weekend. We feel blessed that he has a great job that is keeping him busy (can you say job security?).... but we can't pretend like life is the same without him.

We miss your voice at the dinner table!
We miss your help as chef!
We miss you playing soccer outside!
We miss helping you park the car in the driveway!
We miss your availability when we need a little nap on the couch!
We miss you when we take a walk!
We miss you at bath time!
And oh do we miss your never ending energy that your little one most definitely needs!
We absolutely, positively miss you but we are so proud of what a hard worker you are!
We love our Daddy!

Keeping up with a 2 year old means....

Rides in a laundry basket across the tile floor beat anything Mommy can do!

(These pics were taken a last week when it had been rainy for a few too many days!)

Is it spring.... really?!?!

We have been loving the last several days of warmer temperatures. We have been getting outside- taking walks, visiting the cows, drawing with chalk, playing on our swing set, and going to the park! We are being spoiled. Every night when we eat dinner and talk about why we had a good day.... Ivy's response keeps being something about the outdoors. So I can only hope it lasts!!

"Dear Jesus,
Please keep this good weather coming!
You are making a little girl oh so happy.
And when she goes to bed and sleeps perfectly... someone else is happy too!
We love this pretty weather and are enjoying your sunshine.
-Amen"

First... warming up on the baby slide.

Now, we are ready for the big one!! It is so steep I am even a little scared on it :)
(I suppose that is where Ivy gets her whimpiness!)

We love driving the cars.

Mommy and Ivy posing by our art work....
Sorry Allie, can't really see the baby bump with my jacket on!

From the Mouth of Ivy....

Sometimes I look at this sweet, innocent little girl and can't believe the things that come out of her mouth. Some things that she says I try to forget, but others give me a lot of smiles.... since she is only 2!! Ivy, don't get any ideas, if you have the attitude you have now when you are 13 it won't go over so well. So onto the words out of her mouth....

Yesterday afternoon Ivy had about 4 major tantrums in a 20 minute span.
All were because I told her no about something that she wanted.
After her third meltdown, she went to go get something out of the drawer that I had already said no about. So I looked at her and with a very firm voice said, "Ivy, I said NO!"

She turned and responded with the firmest voice a 2 year old can have and said,
"Mommy, you don't say NO, you say yes mam! Okay???"

First, I about died, trying to hold in my laughter!! Then, I tried to explain the difference between me and her, but she walked away as if she was saying... save it for another day, lady!!
